Placement of players on teams is done through a draft system for grades 3-12. In order to spread the talent roughly equally across the teams in a given league, a skills assessment is held where the players are asked to do various drills and are evaluated by the coaches. They are then ranked prior to the player draft. These skills assessments will be held in mid-November to early December for grades 3-8 at times and locations to be announced. For grades 9-12, they will be held after the local high schools hold their tryouts during the week of November 15th (probably in early December) [NOTE: For HS boys, team placement may be done without the need for skills assessments]
For grades 1-2, players are placed on teams by the league administrator on the basis of school and neighborhood. No skills assessments are held for these grades.
NOTE: The skills assessments for the House program are for information-gathering purposes only. Every registered player is assigned to a team, regardless of how they do in the skills assessments. If a player misses the assessment, the parents may be called by the league administrator for information about the skill level of their child or past year's information may be used.
