House team skill assessments (Boys & Girls)

Update: 12/05/2007

Participants in the House program in grades 3-10 are placed on teams through a player draft. In order to provide information for the coaches to assess the relative skills of players in each age group, a skills assessment is held for each league during which time each player executes a series of drills and participates in a short scrimmage. They are then evaluated by the coaches so that the coaches can make informed decisions during the player drafts. While it is very important for as many players to participate as possible in these player assessments, missing the assessment does not disqualify a player from being placed on a team.

Players in grades 1-2 do not participate in skills assessments but are placed on teams by the league administrator according to school or neighborhood. In addition, boys in grades 11-12 and girls in grades 9-12 also do not participate in these player assessments and are placed on teams by the coaches/league administrator working together.

The house skills assessments for Boys and Girls grades 3-8 took place in early to mid-November and early December once registration officiallly closed. The skills assessments for Boys grade 9 will take place later in early December, after the local high schools finish their tryouts for the high school teams.
