Below are the key dates for registering for the Winter program of CYA Basketball:

17 September: Online registration begins for grades 1-12

16 October: Late registration begins for grades 1-8 ($25 late fee)

31 October: Last day to register for grades 1-8 and be guaranteed placement on a team. Anyone who registers for grades 1-8 beginning November 1st will be accepted only if space permits

31 November: Last day to register for grades 9-12 and be guaranteed placement on a team. Anyone who registers for grades 1-8 beginning December 1st will be accepted only if space permits

Note that we hold registration for the high school grades open longer so that players can try out for their local high school teams in mid-November before deciding whether or not to play CYA Basketball.

The basic registration fee for house basketball is $135.50 ($120.50 for first grade only). Of this $135.50, $20 goes to the CYA general fund for insurance and administrative costs, $10 goes to the CYA capital improvement fund, and $5.50 goes to Fairfax County as a user fee. CYA Basketball receives only $100 of the $135.50, which goes to pay for uniforms, awards, equipment, gym space, referee costs, and other related expenses.
