CYA Teams with NOVA FC to Field Super Y League Teams

Teams to begin play in the Summer of 2013

CYA is pleased to announce a partnership with the Northern Virginia Football Club (NOVA FC). CYA and NOVA FC will leverage each others strengths to foster player development and competitive opportunities, improving the overall youth soccer experience for our players, coaches and families. This relationship will allow our players an additional avenue to pursue the game at the highest competitive level in the Super Y League.

The Super Y-League is a summer league dedicated to the progression of youth soccer players and designed for talented youth players destined for college, professional or international careers. Affiliated with U.S. Soccer, the Super Y-League ODP Program has opened countless doors for players to be identified for U.S. National Team programs. The Super Y-League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL PRO clubs, Premier Development League and W-League clubs. The Super Y League comprises age groups from U12 U17 (Girls and Boys) and it is an essential step to a youth players Path to the Pros.

The NOVA FC was established in 1997 as a member of the United Systems of Independent Soccer Leagues (USISL). As USISL evolved through the years into what is now known as the United Soccer Leagues (USL), it has developed a full top-to-bottom approach in fostering soccer development in North America. NOVA FC is one such full service club dedicated to the USL vision of North American soccer development and has embraced this complete club model structure, and focuses exclusively on development at all levels to promote the beautiful game.

This relationship is about creating more developmental opportunities for players, establishing a direct pathway between CYA and NOVA FC, one of the top USL Clubs in the country, and it also establishes a pathway for our most capable players into the West Ham International Academy, giving CYA NOVA FC players a direct opportunity to play overseas.
