Tryout Eligibility

Tryouts are intended for players with at least one season of volleyball experience. Players who are new to volleyball are not eligible to attend tryouts. To attend tryouts, you must be actively registered and have paid for the CYA Volleyball Fall 2026 season. If you are not actively registered or have a pending status, you may not attend.

Players who:

· Are new to volleyball,

· Choose not to attend tryouts, or

· Attend tryouts but are not selected for a Select or Travel team,

will be placed on a House team based on the availability provided during registration.

· Grades 5-6 Coed 

· Middle School Girls (Grades 7-8)

· High School Girls

Travel Team Commitment

Players wishing to be considered for the Travel Team must be available for all Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday commitments throughout the season. No exceptions.

If you cannot commit to this schedule, please do not attend the Travel tryout.

Players who accept a Travel Team roster spot but fail to fulfill the commitment may be removed from the team without a refund.

Select Team Expectations

Participation on a Select team requires a significant commitment.

· Weekly practices and Saturday games are mandatory.

· Please provide all scheduling conflicts during registration or email aday@chantillyyouth.org if your availability changes before teams are formed.

· Missed practices or games may result in reduced playing time or removal from the team.

· Team assignments are final. Players may not switch teams after placement.

· Friend and carpool requests cannot be accommodated for Select teams.

Grades 5–6 (Coed) Select Tryout

· Saturday, August 29 – 8:30-10am

 

Select team notifications will be sent out after the second tryout. It may take a couple of days after the second tryout to hear the result.

Middle School Girls (Grades 7–8) TRAVEL Tryouts

· Tuesday, August 25 | 5:30–7:30 PM

· Wednesday, August 26 | 5:30–7:30 PM

Interested players only need to attend one session, but can attend both. Some players may be specifically asked to return for the second tryout. Travel team invitees will be notified by email shortly after the second tryout and must accept/decline immediately. 

Middle School Girls (Grades 7–8) SELECT Tryouts

· Thursday, August 27 -

Those with last names starting with A-L from 6-7:30pm*

Those with last names starting with M-Z from 7:30-9pm*

*You must attend the session which coincides with your name. If you show up for another time slot, you will only be allowed to participate if space permits.

 

· Saturday, August 29 – 

Those with last names starting with A-L 10:15-11:45am*

Those with last names starting with M-Z from 11:45am-1:15pm*

*You must attend the session which coincides with your name. If you show up for another time slot, you will only be allowed to participate if space permits.

High School Girls Select Tryouts

· Saturday, August 29 – 1:30-3pm

Boys Volleyball

Middle School and High School Boys assessments will be announced at a later date.
