To all baseball players league ages 16-18 (birthdates in 2004 , 2005, 2006, and 2007 (if you want to play as a 15 year old swing player) from the Herndon, Chantilly, and Reston areas or neighboring Loudoun and Fairfax Couny areas:
The Northern Fairfax County (NFC) Senior Babe Ruth league is open for registration at www.chantillyyouth.org. Our fee is less than the cost of a new bat! Registration fees cover uniforms, team equipment, and umpire fees (the vast majority of expenses). A late fee may apply if you register after the established cutoff date. This is an outstanding value for the price. We play competitively against other Senior Babe Ruth teams in the Northern Virginia area. Every league has a core of high school players and talented baseball enthusiasts. So, bring out your friends and have some fun!
Our players typically come from the following high schools and their feeder schools: Chantilly HS, Oakton HS, Westfield HS, Herndon HS, South Lakes HS, Paul VI HS, Flint Hill HS, and other private schools. Neighboring areas (such as South Riding and Sterling) without a Senior Babe Ruth league can also join us.

SPRING SEASON: We will start general league practices in April for all registered players and will break into teams for team practices by early May if the registration totals are near completion. We hope to use the April practices for player skill building, game situation knowledge building, and player assessments. High school players may participate in the early practices if your coach approves. Spring teams will form in May and start to play games around the middle of May. Full schedule of games typically start when the high school season ends.
Our season will include games played against Sr. Babe Ruth teams from other leagues in Northern Virginia, including Greater Fairfax, Vienna, FallsChurch/Annandale, Springfield, Arlington, Manassas, Haymarket, and Greater Loudoun. Our schedule should include between 15 and 18 games. Typically there will be two games during the week and one on the weekend (usually Saturday). Rainouts will be rescheduled if possible and may be played on Sunday.
ALL-STAR SEASON: Our All-Star season will pick-up immediately at the end of the regular season. All-Star practices/evaluations may be conducted prior to the end of the regular spring season. Players from each of our teams will be considered for the All-Star roster.
Players must register for the Spring Season by May 30th to guarantee eligibility for All-Stars, even if you can't start playing until your high school team finishes in June.
FALL SEASON: We also will conduct a fall league season. Fall league registration will be conducted over the summer and teams will form by the end of August, general and team practices will start after players are notified, and games will start play around the first week in September. The season will end by the first week in November. Our fall league schedule typically includes about 14-18 games, including games against teams from the other Northern VA SR Babe Ruth leagues. Typically there will be one game during the week and one on the weekend. One practice per week is also typical.
This is a great opportunity for rising 16s to develop skills and get used to playing with the older guys in the league.
WINTER CAMP SEASON: Our NFC Senior Division has sponsored an indoor Winter Camp starting in January and ending by March. Starting in 2019, the Winter Camp will be conducted in the CYA Fieldhouse. The camp is open to all players from Little League age through 19. You do not have to have played in our league to participate in the camp. Softball players are welcome to participate in the camp. Registration is available via the CYA Registration link.
Coaches and Volunteers: Please contact us or register online if you are interested in coaching or volunteering in other roles. All of our coaches are required to complete Babe Ruth coaches training as well as other training in support of the SafeSport Act (see Volunteer link). We are also in need of volunteers for concessions, field maintenance, announcers, score keepers, tournament director, and fundraising.
If you have any questions, contact David Gould, dbgould@starpower.net or Donnie Bradley bradleybaseball@gmail.com.
Sponsors: If you would like to be a sponsor of our league to help promote NFC Senior Babe Ruth baseball, please contact us at either of the emails above. We would love to enter into a partnership with local businesses. Help to keep baseball thriving for our high school age kids in the area.
About Northern Fairfax County Senior Babe Ruth Baseball

SENIOR BABE RUTH LEAGUE - AGES 16-18
Any player satifying the following is eligible for Babe Ruth Baseball 16-18 Division:
- Any player born in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 are eligible for the Babe Ruth 16-18 Division

- Players league age 15 by May 1 are eligible to be swing players in the 16-18 Division. Swing players are also eligible to play in the Northern Fairfax County 13-15 Division.
Note: This means that some players that are actually 19 may participate and some players that are 15 may choose to play up to participate.
Our teams participate in the Northern Fairfax County Senior Babe Ruth League (NFC SrBRL). NFC Senior Babe Ruth League is a part of Virginia Babe Ruth District 7. Our NFC Senior Babe Ruth League is the natural progression for players graduating from the 13-15 Northern Fairfax Babe Ruth League.
The NFC Senior Babe Ruth League is comprised of teams of players from the Chantilly, Herndon, and Reston communities and includes players from the same geographical boundaries as the Northern Fairfax (13-15) Babe Ruth League. The NFC 16-18 Senior Babe Ruth League takes advantage of the Chantilly Youth Association’s administrative capabilities in order to facilitate the registration and organization of the league.
The Public High School Districts that are included in the NFC Senior Babe Ruth League geographical boundaries are Chantilly, Herndon, South Lakes, and portions of Westfield, Oakton and Fairfax. Many of the program’s players play at the high school level and some go on to become college athletes. The schools and their coaches have been very supportive of our program through the use of their facilities.
We conduct 2 seasons (Spring and Fall) for Senior Babe Ruth.
SPRING SEASON: In the Spring, many of our players will be participating in a spring sport at their high schools or on other baseball teams, but that does not preclude them from playing Senior Babe Ruth baseball. In fact we encourage players to play as much baseball as they can afford the time and resources. Our season starts in May near/after the completion of the spring high school seasons. High school players are welcome to play for Senior Babe Ruth teams after the completion of their high school season. Typically, the spring season completes by July 4th. Due to the short schedule, there can be 3 to 4 games in a week. All-star play follows the end of the regular season. All-stars play in the District 13 tournament to qualify for the State Tournament. Successful all-stars can compete through to the World Series which is typically held in August.
FALL SEASON: In the Fall, our season runs from September through the first week of November. Some players participate in fall high school sports/activities (football, cross county, golf, band) while playing fall baseball. Players that were participating at league age 15 in the spring, move up in the fall to play as rising 16s. This is a more instructional period with more time for practices. Typically there are 2 games per week during the fall season.
Our 16-18 division is played under regulation baseball rules. We promote the opportunity to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, fair play, high morality and democratic spirit which the participant has learned at the Babe Ruth 13-15 level. The primary objective of the 16-18 division is to provide a community-level program to promote the game of baseball and which can potentially give players an opportunity to participate in the post season all the way to the 16-18 World Series.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the field each season. If you have any questions or concerns about the coming season, please feel free to contact David Gould, League President and Commissioner of Northern Fairfax County Senior Babe Ruth at dbgould@starpower.net.
